Packaging
All my packaging is plastic free, the company who prints my cards are also plastic free with their packaging. I’m very proud to say that, that whole supply chain is fully recyclable and printed locally to me in Kent.
My prints are packed in biodegradable clear bags, these bags are made in the UK from film that has been accredited to OK biobased and DIN EN 13432. They are made from annually renewable PLA derived from vegetable starches (potato, sugar beet etc.)and are fully Biodegradable.
My bauble packaging is plastic free - the packing chips are made from cornstarch and can be composted in your standard food waste collection bin.
Sustainabilty
All my cards are printed on to FSC card stock. When I started my company it was always with the hope that the majority of my card designs could be framed or kept as a mini artwork a keepsake, this is why so many of them do not include a message on the front and are stand alone illustrations. That being said, they are also fully recyclable and plastic free should you prefer not to keep them.
Other ways I try to be as sustainable as possible:
All my carry-able orders are walked to the post box/ post office
I only print small runs of my work so there is very little waste, I usually distribute any less than perfect cards amongst my family or I will have sample sales about once a year.
Any packaging I receive is always reused for orders
I try to only use plastic free art materials when I create my work so I can avoid micro-plastics entering the water. If I do need to use acyclic paint I use the ‘Bucket and Evaporating Method’ to clean my brushes.
I use a stay wet palette which cuts down on the amount of paint I waste and also saves me money :)
